The Meaning Behind Ash & Embers

Let’s talk about the meaning of my business name!

Ash - Short for Ashton

Embers - Usually associated with the glowing remains of a fire, but there’s another meaning to it.

“Slowly dying or fading emotions, memories, ideas, or responses still capable of being revived.”

Which perfectly explains my love for photography. All of these moments I capture could have been a fading memory but are instead documented for life.

This meaning of embers was first introduced to me about 10 years ago by my Grandfather. He is an artist and he asked me to model for his next piece entitled “Embers”. He explained the meaning and the emotion he would like to convey in the piece and it engrained a new meaning of “Embers” in me.
